laoiselectrical.ie · prepared for Laois Electrical only

The same page ranks 5th on one address and 25th on another

This review is about who your website brings in. We went through the site and your search rankings. The main finding: your best result, 5th place for "electric company near me", is split across two versions of your own web address, one gets the ranking and the traffic, the other gets nothing for the identical search. You've also already built proper Solar Panels and EV Chargers pages, well titled and sensible, and neither one shows up in Google's results at all yet. It's all detailed below, with what to do about each one.

01 The rankings

One good ranking, and it's split in half

Your website works two ways: typing laoiselectrical.ie sends a visitor straight on to www.laoiselectrical.ie, and the site itself has told Google that the www version is the correct one to trust. Despite that, Google's own numbers show the opposite of what you'd expect from that setup.

What people GooglePeople / monthYour situation

This kind of split usually happens when the forwarding between the two addresses gets set up after Google has already started ranking the site under the old one. Google is now getting a mixed message: one address is being pointed to as the correct one, but the real ranking strength is still sitting on the other. Until that gets sorted out, your best result keeps losing half its value to an address almost nobody actually lands on.

02 The specifics

Four things holding the numbers back

Conflicting
Your two addresses are sending Google mixed signals
laoiselectrical.ie forwards visitors on to www.laoiselectrical.ie, and the site has told Google that the www version is the one to trust. But Google's ranking data still shows your best position and all of your real traffic sitting on the other address, the one you've told Google to ignore. The version doing the real work is not the version you've pointed Google towards.
Weak
You built the right pages, and neither one ranks yet
You already have a dedicated Solar Panels page and a dedicated EV Chargers page, both with sensible titles that name Laois. Neither one shows up anywhere in Google's results for any search we tracked. Your homepage also says, in plain writing, that you cover Laois, Kilkenny and Carlow. None of that has turned into a ranking for any of those counties either.
Generic
None of the photos show your own team or a real job
The four service photos on your homepage, solar, EV, domestic, commercial, all look like general stock photography rather than your own crew on an actual Laois job. Homeowners deciding who to let onto their roof notice the difference between a stock photo and a real crew on a real van.
Thin
Your FAQ skips the question every homeowner asks first
Your FAQ has two questions, both answered in a single line. Neither one mentions the SEAI grant, which is usually the very first thing a homeowner wants explained before they'll pick up the phone.
Worth noticing

The site itself is not broken, and you've clearly put real thought into it: sensible page titles, a proper reviews page, and specific counties named on the homepage. What's holding the numbers back is a technical mix-up between your two addresses, and pages that exist but aren't yet strong enough to win their searches. Both are fixable without touching how the site looks.

One more thing nobody has flagged

Your Commercial Electrician page currently reads "Laoisaois" in its title instead of "Laois". You won't see this on the page itself, it's the title tag, the text that shows in the browser tab and in your Google listing, not the page content. Open /commercial-electrician and look at the tab at the top of your browser, or the page's SEO title setting in Wix, and you'll see it. Small, but it's the kind of thing worth a two minute fix.

03 Done for you

The fixes, already written out

Each fix below is ready to hand to whoever manages the site.

Fix 1 · Get your two addresses working as one
Whoever manages your Wix site needs to confirm the forward from laoiselectrical.ie to www.laoiselectrical.ie is set up as permanent, not temporary, and then tell Google directly through the free Google Search Console tool that both addresses need to be treated as one, so the ranking that's currently split between them can be recombined onto a single address.
laoiselectrical.ie → confirm the forward to www.laoiselectrical.ie is permanent, not temporary
Google Search Console → submit both addresses so Google can recombine the split ranking onto one
Fix 2 · New text for your Google listing
Your current listing is reasonable. This version names your rating and leads with the service that currently has no ranking behind it at all.
What Google shows now
https://www.laoiselectrical.ie
Laois Electrical | Renewable Energy & Electrician | Laois
Laois Electrical provides renewable energy and electrician services, such as EV chargers, solar panels, domestic electrician and commercial electrician work.
What it should show
https://www.laoiselectrical.ie
Solar Panels & EV Chargers Laois | Laois Electrical
Solar panel installation, EV chargers and electrical work across Laois and the surrounding counties. 5.0 stars from 68 Google reviews.
Fix 3 · Strengthen the pages you already have
You don't need new pages for solar or EV charging, you've already built them. They need more real detail on them to become the obvious answer when someone searches.
/solar-panels — already live. Add the panel brands you install, a typical system size, a price range, and photos from a real Laois job
/ev-chargers — already live. Same treatment: more on the Zappi chargers you already mention, the install process, a price range
Laois, Kilkenny, Carlow — named once in your homepage text. A proper paragraph or page for each gives Google somewhere to send a county-specific search
"Laoisaois" → fix the typo on the Commercial Electrician page title

05 What it adds up to

Run your own numbers on it

Here's the number worth sitting with. The searches already tracked on this page add up to around 650 people a month, and right now your best result among them is being split between two addresses instead of working as one. That's before counting anyone searching for solar panels or EV chargers in Laois specifically, since your dedicated pages for those don't show up in Google's results at all yet, which means there's currently no way to even count how many of those searches you're missing. You know how many enquiries turn into a job for you, and what a job is worth. That's the sum worth doing on your side.

Why sooner beats later

Your keyword count fell from seven to six this month. A small ranking that's currently splitting itself in two is easier to recover than one Google has already started to drop altogether. The longer the address split runs, the more of that 5th-place result is at risk of being lost rather than simply divided.
